Barefoot Walking Technique – Fox Walking

Barefoot Walking Technique – Fox Walking

Along with being a great barefoot walking technique, Fox walking is also one of the core awareness skills.

Much is written about Fox walking in the Kamana Naturalist Training Program. It is a powerful awareness tool when learned in conjunction with what Wilderness Awareness School calls its “core routines.”

As an aid to those studying nature awareness, naturalist Ryan Salmon put together this video to better aid people who do not have someone to personally show them how to fox walk. Whether you are learning fox walking as a barefoot walking technique, or a way to connect with nature, please check out the video below to learn more.

This video compliments Field Exercise 5 of the Kamana Naturalist Training Program’s “Nature Awareness Trail.”

Fox walking, more on how to do it, and other core awareness skills are thoroughly covered in the Kamana Naturalist Training Program.

Ryan Salmon put this fox walking footage together in his year at the Anake Outdoor School.

Thanks for this video :) I found it very helpful in visualizing what fox walking looks like. I have practiced this technique before but didn’t know it had any official name. I like to think of it as fluid walking without any sharp movements. It feels great when I get into it. Thanks again!
