    I agree with you on the chewed leaf poultice working like “magic” on a sting. I am from interior Alaska and we have a willow that grows on sandbars here. We Indians use it for bee sting first aid. It is not bitter tasting like birch leaves which I used once also. The sting site never had pain or swelling, but did tingle slightly now and then. Months later I was watching a Discovery Channel show on bees, and my old sting site started tingling, creeped me out!
